This is a private service with your own driver and own vehicle door to door. At the time of your election our driver will go to the location of your preference to pick you up from there you will be assisted. If needed we will stop in a restaurant, supermarket or drugstore.

Rate for the service, not person. from 1 up to 6 passengers. Rates vary depending on your drop off location and if the service is operated between 6pm and 6am.

Cahuita National Park

Cahuita is a unique national park in Costa Rica because of its close relationship with the community. It’s an example of shared management for sustainable development between the community and government. The participation of park rangers and community lifeguards stands out through shared governance and management.

Discover the most preserved coral reef in the Costa Rican Caribbean and enjoy the scenery, culture and cuisine offered in the area.
White sand beaches, a turquoise sea and diverse marine life are some of the attractions that await you in Cahuita National Park, in the province of Limón.
In this ecosystem, embedded in the Caribbean but with a forest environment, you will find species like raccoons, coatis, sloths, iguanas and lizards. You can also find snakes like the eyelash viper and the rainforest hognosed pitviper, and birds like the common black-hawk.

Inside the park you can practice recreational sports and hike the trails, or simply enjoy the beaches, swimming and sunbathing.

The park is supported by guides and tour operators from the community, who have been trained by the National Learning Institute and are accredited by the Costa Rican Tourism Board to help inform and provide services to visitors.

Directions: 

from San José, take route 32 to lemon, passing through the Zurquí tunnel. When it comes to Puerto Limon, before entering the city, at a petrol station, turn right towards the community of Cahuita, reaching the area of Playa Blanca, leaving the community of Cahuita southward about 5 km this entry to the sector of Puerto Vargas.

Cahuita, Limon

If you visit the southern Caribbean of Costa Rica, do not forget to visit Cahuita, a town that belongs to the province of Limón. Cahuita National park

The Cahuita National Park extends around 55,000 hectares of protected marine environments and 600 hectares of terrestrial ecosystems and coral reefs. During the visit to this park you can do many activities such as hiking on the trails, practice scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming and canoeing. The snorkeling and diving are very popular activities in the park, because this zone has a beautiful coral reef. Also, the Cahuita National Park is a very important point for the leatherback turtle’s nesting, this nesting occurs between March and July; other species of turtles also use this area to lay their eggs. In addition, this national park has a path from Kelly Creek Ranger Station to Puerto Vargas, these are about 4.4 miles of coastal footpath where you will enjoy countless wildlife.

Chocolate Tour

Near Cahuita you can take the Chocolate Tour and visit the Museum and the Chocolate factory, here you will also find the Bribri Indigenous Reserve, where visitors will learn about the history of cacao in Costa Rica, as well as learn how to make chocolate in a traditional way.

Blanca beach

This beach is located inside the Cahuita National Park, this is an exotic white sand beach, palm trees and forest; In this beach a voluntary contribution is requested in the entrance that helps with the expenses of the Cahuita National park. The schedule to this beach is from 8am to 4pm as it belongs to the national park, here you can carry out many activities, too.

Negra beach

This beach is located 1 kilometer northwest of Cahuita down town, as its name indicates this beach has its black sand, here you can practice many activities, this beach is located very close to the road, for this reason has easy access to hotels or some places to eat.

Puerto Vargas

This is one of the entrances to the Cahuita National Park, access by this entrance is from 7am to 5pm. This beach has some great areas for barbecue, in addition you can enter by car to this zone.

Grande beach

This is a very quiet beach, as it has very little visitation, grande beach is a perfect area to rest. In Cahuita you enjoy many tours, or you can visit many beaches and areas very close to this exotic area.

How to get to Cahuita

Shuttle Service Transportation

The shared transport will arrive at the lobby or the hotel reception for you; If your hotel is out of our route, we will tell you which is the closest hotel in which we can offer the service. Interbus offers daily shuttle service from the San José; offering two departure times, one in the morning around 07:30 am and in the afternoon around 14:45 hrs, the exact time of departure will depend on the hotel where you are staying. Public Transportation service

You should head to the Caribbean Bus Terminal, where you must to choose to travel from San Jose to Puerto Viejo de Limón / Cahuita and can chooses the convenient schedule.
